Egypt aims to resuscitate its tourism sector with the new tourist attraction. The project, once complete, will be the largest observation wheel on the African continent.
Egypt’s tourism authority anticipates that the tourist wheel will attract up to two and a half million visitors a year. This will help lure visitors back to Cairo. This tourism mecca has suffered big losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Cairo Eye will play a strategic role in sustainable tourism development, in line with Egypt’s vision 2030,” Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal said, according to Egypt Today.
